Já que hoje é o dia mundial do rock, justamente numa sexta-feira 13, eu coloco a vocês uma das músicas que me influênciaram a fazer parte deste sub mundo.
Welcome to the Jungle (tradução literal para Bem vindo à selva) é a primeira música de Appetite for Destruction, o álbum de estréia do Guns n’ Roses, lançado em 1987 e considerado um dos melhores álbuns de rock da história. A letra fala sobre o inferno que é viver numa cidade grande e os perigos que a cidade apresenta para quem lá se aventura em busca de prazeres. Tem a clássica frase “You know where you are? You are in the jungle, baby/ You’re gonna die!”. A música foi tocada a exaustão em rádios de todo o planeta e seu videoclipe também teve alta rotação na MTV. A música foi escrita por Axl Rose e composta pelo cantor em parceria com o guitarra Slash. Junto com o Baixista Duff McKagan o musica fica perfeita, e não é por acaso que foi umas das musicas mais escutadas nos rádios nos anos 80.
